The show uses the same premise and main cast as the 1984 live-action show but includes a magical sprite named Glomer. The series featured the voices of the original Punky Brewster cast as their respective characters.

It's Punky Brewster is the series' unofficial name, as it was simply called Punky Brewster on the title card and in TV listings.

In season 2, shows 4 through 13 had a first-run episode and a repeat from the first season.

The series was canceled in September 1987 but returned in replays in October 1988 after NBC's live action pre-teen show 2 Hip 4 TV was canceled. Selected episodes were syndicated as a revolving feature of DIC's Maxie's World in 1989.[1]

Theme song[]

Lyrics[]

I ran to the end of the rainbow’s arc
there wasn’t any pot of gold
And there I found a friend who’s 2 feet tall
One hundred and four years old
Glomer is an orphan, he was left behind
And a lot like Punky, he was one of a kind

Punky Brewster
come on it’s just a fantasy, oh-oh, oh oh
Punky Brewster
I always want you here with me, I know oh-oh
Punky Brewster
No one is gonna understand
Punky Brewster
Together we’re the best of friends
Punky Brewster
I always want you here with me, you know oh-oh
Punky Brewster
